Day 3- A day in Nassau, Bahamas!

Today The Music Boat made its stop in Nassau, Bahamas. We made it! All this eating and doing nothing caught up to me. I slept in and after eating breakfast rested some more. I didn't leave the ship until noon. I was surprised how it easy it was to get off the ship. The ships door opened right up to land. No shuttle boats like yesterday. I went for a tour of Nassau solo. Just me, my backpack, and camera. Once getting off the ship all of us cruisers walk through the 'Welcome Center” which opens up to the city. I just took a stroll up and down Bay Street which has all the touristy shops. I ended up picking up a bunch of sea related items (sponge, shells, star fish) for my Sponge Bob loving sons Kaden and Kyler. Then I went back to the Welcome Center to grab a $4 shuttle ride over to the Atlantis hotel. The place was huge. I bought a $35 day pass so I check the joint out. They have a place called “The Dig” which is a fabricated archaeological site of Atlantis.  Inside that walk-through I saw the ugliest sea creatures I had ever seen! I am not even sure what they were, but they looked like big green snakes. I think the evil Ursula from The Little Mermaid had a few of these as pets if I remember correctly. I am not entirely up on my Disney. They were so ugly I thought I would share a picture with you. Those are real living creatures. I have decided that I would like to come back to the Bahamas and stay 3-4 days at Atlantis. Next up was the Nassau Pirate Museum. I was really into pirates growing up so I was pretty excited to check this out. I guess Nassau has some deep pirate history. Upon entering the establishment I had a run in with a real pirate who instead of posing for a picture tried to choke me. By this time I was wore out and went back to the ship to rest.

It seems my appetite is growing as each day passes. You won't believe who much food I ate tonight for dinner. Let me lay it out for you: bread, 2 appetizers, 2 complete main dishes, and 3 desserts. And I wasn't even sick feeling when I was done. I better stock up when I get home. There won't be enough food in the house! I was really looking forward to the main show tonight: the illusionist Brock Gill and Toby Mac. I had met Brock on the first day and he was so funny and cool I was really looking forward to his show. He did some crazy magic and tied it all together with a great message. I don't know what to really say about Toby Mac's show. They straight laid it down! Toby puts on one of the best shows in Christian music. He had young and old waving their arms in the air. I had planned on going to bed early, but I ended up on the Lido deck to see what was going on. Lo and behold they had a special outdoor “feast” set up for everybody. While out there I ran into the Mercy Me guys and had a chance to chat with Bart and company for a while. Overall a great day! Sadly, tomorrow is the final day of the Music Boat.    -Kalel

P.S. I didn't know what to expect on this cruise, but being surrounded by so many Christian people really gives one a sense of peace.
