Day 1 out at sea!

I so couldn't sleep last night. I ended up staying up until 5am and sleeping like 3 hours. Woke up to some killer room service though. Then us "industry" folk boarded the shuttle and made our way to The Music Boat. I ran into my old Pillar boys as well the illusionist Brock Gill that I recently interviewed on the shuttle over. Brock made my nose disappear. I still can't find it! Boarding went nice and easy. They even delivered my bags to my room. The boat is huge! Its called the Monarch of the Seas. What was the first thing I did once on board....EAT! It was my first of 50 meals on this cruise. Of course I couldn't smell it. But I am sure it was good. I had a chance to meet a few of you fellow bloggers in person. The picture we took together didn't turn out good guys, sorry! I like how one of you said The Music Boat is just a great place to take your family for vacation because of its Christian environment. There is definitely a much stronger family environment here. You can feel it.

During my short nap the ship engines roared to life and we were at sea. At 5:45pm it was dinner time already! I ordered the NY strip, mashed potatoes, and I ended up getting two different deserts that were both extremely good. The waiter and cruise staff were very attentive. I think they would have brought me 4 deserts if I had asked. The first concert I attended was Fee and David Crowder. Now I have heard of Fee before, but never listened to the tunes. I was blown away. They have a very modern, edgy spin on worship music. Great guys also. Then the guy with the fun sense of humor and crazy hair hit the stage Mr. David Crowder. Both groups had the large crowd singing loud praises which is something you don't typically hear on the cruise. Very moving. I ran into the Hawk Nelson guys backstage before their concert. They were looking sharp with their ties and all. The great thing about the Music Boat is that I am running into friends, other musicians, all over the boat. On my way to check out another concert I ran into Will from Audio Adrenaline. If you are a fan of Christian music this is definitely the place to listen and then meet your favorite artists. You are stuck on a boat with them! You will meet them! The schedule is laid out so multiple artists are playing at the same time, but most artists play many times throughout the cruise. You definitely have a chance to catch everybody. Before I called it a night I swung by and saw Newsong laying it down in the lounge. Amazing musicianship. And on my way to get some late night pizza and ice cream I caught the last few songs of The Katinas playing on the outside stage. I can probably eat 4 of those soft serve ice creams a day. I would go on a cruise just for the ice cream. Tomorrow we will be stopping at the private island and there will be much more music! Check back tomorrow night. Peace, Michael
